Space Force picks SpaceX for $4.16B contract to detect airborne targets

The Space Force today awarded SpaceX $4.16 billion to build a constellation of satellites able to track and sense airborne moving targets, according to a service announcement. The contract, awarded under the Space Development Agency's Tranche 3 program, calls for delivery of initial satellite payloads by late 2028 with full operational capability expected in 2030....
